A few years years ago I wanted to get nice flashlights for all of my family and friends. It would have been easy to get everyone my favorite model but I wanted to give people a unique light selected to best fit their needs and personality. After studying about five hundred different lights, I made a spreadsheet. That grew into a database and that further grew into this site.
The project has always been a labor of love, and it's always been entirely run by one person. I type up, verify and proof-check everything myself. And do all the hosting and programming myself too. The site uses Amazon affiliate links to help cover operating costs.
Frequently Asked Questions:
-
Are you sure you aren't a scummy affiliate link site?
Yes! I take a lot of pride in collecting and assembling accurate information and keeping it up to date. My hope is to be the best, fastest and most complete compilation of flashlight data. The majority of the links don't even point to Amazon - they go to useful information such as the manufacturer's product page or a high-quality CPF review.
-
I really want to support my favorite small flashlight distributor instead of a big corporation. Do you mind if I buy from them instead?
Of course not. It is enough for me to know that I've helped you find the perfect light. I would appreciate a kind word of thanks on CPF or Reddit (or where ever you heard of my site), but please don't feel obligated.

How do I use the search?

I'm still overwhelmed by the search! Help?
Come over to /r/flashlight and post a request with your requirements. Plus the community there knows a lot about the lights that aren't in my database so you'll get more well-rounded answers.
Please enjoy the site and if you have any suggestions, or find a typo, you can get in touch with me at Reddit or CPF.
